| | Peterson 500 Turn Signal SwitchHow does it work? To Signal Turns Move switch handle in direction of turn. Green pilot light will flash to indicate proper functioning. If pilot light does not flash, check for defective lamp pilot bulbs before checking flasher. To Operate Flare With switch handle in neutral position, pull flare tab out. All signal lamps and red pilot light will flash for all round vehicle protection. To Release Flare Move switch handle left or right. Tab flare will release automatically. Return switch handle to neutral position. CAUTION: Power lead must be connected to a line which is "hot" when ignition switch is off for hazard warning signal to operate when motor is running! How to mount the Peterson 500 aka V500 Turn Signal Switch 1. Unscrew column clamp. 2. Place column clamp around steering column. 3. Start the column clamp screw. DO NOT TIGHTEN. 4. Slide the Turn Signal Switch over the clamp. 5. Tighten the column clamp. How to wire the model 500 switch 1. Mount the switch on the steering column. 2. Remove the flasher during wiring. Replace the flasher only after wiring is completed and checked. 3. Wire as indicated in diagram provided with 500 switch. 4. Tape the ends of any unused wires to prevent shorts. 5. Connect the Gray/Black wire from the turn signal switch to the switched side of the stop light switch that is operated by the brake pedal. 6. Replace the flasher to complete installation.
