Backup Alarms
Peterson backup alarms offer maximum protection as a safety device for a variety of vehicles. These backup alarms work with cars, pickups, buses, trucks, tractor trailers, cargo vans, box trucks, as well as heavy industrial equipment (including: fork lifts, backhoes, etc.) or any vehicle with limited rear visibility.

The speaker in each of our backup alarm has a tone at which it performs its best. This is the natural tone of the speaker at which it sounds the loudest. In most backup alarms the electronics of the alarm are matched to the natural tone of the speaker at the factory.
Once a backup alarm is placed on a vehicle and put into use, the natural tone of the speaker will lower as the speaker breaks in. A speakers' natural tone may also change with environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, moisture and dust.
With most backup alarms in the market today, the electronics will not change as the speaker changes. They always drive the speaker at the same tone that was set at the factory. This means the volume of the alarm will diminish increasingly from the day the backup alarm leaves the factory.
Peterson's self-tuning backup alarms re-tune to the natural tone of the speaker every time they are turned on. This means the alarm will consistently offer maximum protection as a safety device.
